A New Christmas Eve Tradition...

Isn't that a face of pure and utter enjoyment?! This Christmas Eve my sister and her husband came down to spend the day with us. While the men played video games, we girls decided to make a gingerbread house. So after a very eventful trip to Macey's, we set to the task.

We started by making the frosting, and here you can see Jade enjoyed every lick!

This is our 2 story house so far. Jade ended up eating most of the candy and decorations rather than helping, but it was still a great bonding experience!

Almost done building! We had to have the boys come and help us fill in the roof eves. They carefully sawed a few graham crackers into triangle shapes to finish the job. What great architects!

Little Miss Blue tongue! She stole so much of the candy we had to get the evidence on film!

I think the roof was one of my favorite parts, we used those little sour licorice bites and marshmallows.

Here she is, so proud of "her" candy house. She wanted to eat it so badly, but was a good little girl and waited until the next day!

This little penguin guy on his slide was another one of my favorite parts. He is the creation of my talented sister. She made him from jelly beans and Dots. The slide was an airhead with candy lego bricks for the base. So creative!

We made his little ice pond out of cotton candy.

Tadah!!! The finished masterpiece! This is only the 2nd gingerbread house I have built in my life! It was so much fun to spend some time as a family!

The Girls: Kaeli, Jade and me (Kiera was kindly taking a nap during this time!).
