Fun Pics

It was Red Ribbon week for my work and this is when you dress up in different, funny ways all week to pledge that you will be drug free.  Teaching in the virtual world is quite different...so we took some great pics to post on my class website.  Here is our crazy hair day...

And this is how it really goes sometimes, getting the girls to pose for pictures:

The last day was just to wear red...I think this picture turned out great.  I love that everyone was smiling and looking at the camera! Miracle!

EWWWW!

So...one day the kids and I were playing in the backyard and I looked over and just happened to see this gray bump under our fence line.  My initial thought was that it was a mouse that had gotten stuck trying to crawl under the fence.  Oh no!!! Upon closer examination, I discovered it had pointy ears and wings tucked under it!  Totally freaked me out...I called Ben who was at work and he told me to kill it.  I told him no way, I did not want to touch that thing!  He said to go get our neighbor, so I did, I went over to his house and was told by his daughter that I needed to call animal control and they would come get it.  She also said to be careful because it might have rabies and could bite us.  If you know me at all, you know I hate small rodents and insects, so of course I was totally scared of this thing waking up and coming after us.  I cut our outside play session short and took the girls inside.  We called animal control and the dispatcher said there was nothing they could do, they did not handle things like that.  So I called a pest control company and he said it was probably sick (rabies!) if it was that close to the ground and not with his group.  Again, freaking out even more!  He said it would probably fly away that night or he could come and get it for $60.  I told him I would wait until tonight...to see what happened.  When Ben got home at 10pm that night, it was still there, not a great sign!  He poked it with a stick and it fell right off the ledge, it was already dead! I had just spent most of the day panicking about a dead bat, I felt a little silly but it was still gross!  He poked it a few more times just to make sure it was dead and then threw it away.  What a weird day and one that I hope never to repeat...I am not a fan of bats!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Jade showing off her new earrings...clip on of course. She sure loves them!  She wants to pierce them and I think Daddy would let her but I am not ready to take care of them.  I think she needs to be old enough to take care of them herself...plus Kiera still puts every small thing she finds on the floor in her mouth!

We inherited some new shelves from Ben's brother and what is the first thing the girls did....yep!! You guessed it...this was the new hiding spot of the day!

Enjoying a fall snack in the backyard.

Harvesting our last zucchini before we ripped out the garden for the winter.  I think we let this one go a bit too long!

Cooking with Daddy...we can no longer cook without  2 chairs on either side of us.  What great helpers we have!

Kiera enjoying some hummus and veggies...

Mmmm....mmmm...good to the last drop!

Not sure what Jade is thinking in this one, but it sure captures the moment.

Fall Leaves at Sundance

Back in September, we took a trip with my Mom up to Sundance to see the fall leaves...we were a bit too early for all the colors but we did get to see a few.  Regardless, we had a nice walk and it was a gorgeous day to be outside!

We also got some fun pics of the girls...

Kiera did not want to hold still for one picture...she was having too much fun dancing in the leaves!

or down the sidewalk...

or eating leaves!

Two pretty (sneaky) girls!

Jade has become my little poser.  I love taking picture of her at this age.

Fun with Daddy by the totem pole.  This picture was taken just after Kiera was bitten by some tiny ants.  We did not see them crawling on her but she had some nice red welts on her neck!  Poor girl!

I put myself away...

Could not resist this one...I had asked Jade to put away all of her toys that she had out in the backyard while I went inside to help Kiera with something.  It had been quite awhile and I thought she should have been done, so I went back outside to find this!
She told me she had "put herself away!"
We sure love this silly, yet logical little girl!

Pigtales!

Kiera's hair is finally long enough to put pigtales in...so we had a pigtale party!

This girl was so excited...she kept looking in the mirror, saying "pretty, pretty!"

Making Donuts

Jade loves donuts so we decided one day to make our own donut holes with my new cake pop maker.  It was super easy and they were yummy! And one 3-year-old could not have been happier!

Sister Pics & Jade's 3 year Pics

I braved it with both girls on my own and headed up to Cedar Hills to take some sister pictures as well as Jade's 3 year old pics.  Jade was a great poser and kept telling me she was "cop-er-ating" (guess you can tell what I was saying alot!) Kiera did well when she wanted to smile, but mostly just had fun running around and throwing rocks.  I did get a few good ones though...

This pic is so true to life...they do love each other fiercely, but sometimes just a bit to fierce!!

This is my favorite smile from Jade...such a sweetie!

Jadee with her 2 best friends!

Princess!

I finally let them loose to play on the playground after our photo shoot--they could not be happier!
