It's a....

Baby Girl Wilson #2

We are having another baby!! We just found out it’s a little girl. It was exciting to finally see her moving around inside of me. The baby is due in April, so I am almost halfway done! We wanted to wait to post about it until we had pics from our ultrasound and knew the gender.

This has been an interesting and different pregnancy for me. It all started off when we found out we were pregnant. We did not find out until I was about 8 weeks along because I apparently could not read a pregnancy test!! Funny story: So it was about a week or so before Jade’s first birthday party (2nd week in August) and I was late, but only about a week. So I took a pregnancy test and it immediately showed a small blue line in each of the two windows. I thought “ok, two negative lines, so I am not pregnant.” A week later, I still did not have a period and I was so busy getting ready for Jade’s party that I thought nothing of it.

It was about this time that we found out that Ben had gotten the Business Librarian job at UVU and this was something we had been hoping and praying for, ever since he graduated last May with his Master’s degree. We were so excited to tell our families about his new job that we decided Jade’s birthday party would be an excellent time to do it because they would all be there. So at the beginning of the party Ben stood up and said, “We have an announcement.” Immediately everyone went silent and I heard a few gasps, especially from Great Grandma Revelli. I knew what they were thinking, that we were pregnant again. That is kind of Tommy (Ben’s brothers fault because at every family gathering he used to say “Angela has an announcement, no matter what it was they were going to say or if he just wanted to get us riled up!) But, we said no we weren’t and then told them about Ben’s job. Everyone was so excited for us. And I again assured them we weren’t pregnant, after all I had just taken a test a week earlier and it was “negative.”

Flash forward about a week later and I started feeling very nauseous and I was so extremely tired I would just lay on the floor while Jade played on me or around me. Poor girl, I was not a very good mommy at that time! This went on for a few days and as I told Ben about it, he said “You’re pregnant, isn’t this what happened last time?” I said yes, but I had just taken a test a few weeks ago and things just don’t happen that fast!! As my symptoms continued Ben just kept saying I was pregnant.

So one morning I decided, fine I will take another test. And sure enough, when I looked at it, it had a small blue line in each of the two windows. Negative again! Man, I was really starting to wonder what was wrong with me. But before I threw away the test, I had a thought to look at the directions. You see this was a different test than I had used when we found out we were pregnant with Jade. When the pregnancy test showed positive with Jade it had a plus sign in one window and a small test line in the other. Naturally that is what I was waiting to see. However, this test I was using this time was a generic Wal-mart one, and how was I supposed to know that not every test had a plus sign for a positive result! After looking at the directions page for the test, I found the picture that showed a positive or a negative result and discovered that a positive result had a small blue line in each of the windows! And a negative had nothing in the first window but a test line in the other. Who knew!!! So, after realizing what that meant, I was actually pregnant and that was what my body was trying to tell me for a few weeks now, I felt rather silly. I ran straight to Ben and showed him, at first he was like what is this, but then after explaining myself. He said “I knew it, you had to be with all those symptoms!”

We were both excited and a little apprehensive as we let the reality of being pregnant again settle in on us. We had planned to have our kids close, and it looks like we got our wish. The girls will be 20 months apart. We wanted them to be good friends and hope they will be. I am sure Jade will be a good big sister. She is growing and learning so much each day and will teach her little sister many, many things!

Here is a 4-D picture of our baby, it is cool because you can see her little face!

On November 23, 2010, we had my 20 week ultrasound and checkup. It was so awesome to see the baby finally and know that all was well. The tech checked all the health issues and made sure all was in order and took lots of pics. Then she looked at the gender, it was a little girl! The tech even wrote Daddy’s girl on the picture! We were thrilled that we had a healthy little girl. Ben had told me he wanted a girl, so Jade could have a playmate. However, I was not sure what we were having because I have been having dream after dream about a little boy. I did with Jade too, so I am thinking that we have a little boy up there somewhere just waiting for his turn and for his big sisters to break us in a bit. We left the doctors office with our happy news. I love seeing the baby and knowing that all is well.

Here is our little girl waving hi! The ultrasound tech said she had never seen a baby wave her hand so much! She was so excited to see us I guess!!

15 Months Old!!!

I cannot even believe Jade is 15 months old today! She is no longer a baby, but a very active toddler. She is exploring her independence and voicing her opinion (quite loudly sometimes!), but then at other times she cuddles up to me or her Daddy and won't let go. We are enjoying this stage as we now have a little person who tries everything we do!

Here are some highlights for Jade at 15 months!

Jade can officially walk now! She falls less and less everyday and is finally at the point where she will stand up and walk somewhere instead of crawling!!
Still loves to put everything in her mouth, her she is modeling her new socks.
She is really getting into playing dress-up. Looks like we better get her some dress up stuff, but I think she did pretty good on her own, don't you?

At 15 months Jade is...

31 ¾ in. tall (90% percentile)

25lbs. 9 oz (90% percentile)

Favorite Foods—spaghetti (any kind of noodles and sauce), baby cheeto puffs, apples, cereal

She is getting her 8th tooth, which makes for 4 on top and 4 on bottom

Jade can say these words:

hi, bye, papa, daddy, mama, num-num (for food she likes)

no-no-no (she likes to say this one especially right after we tell her no)

nana (for banana)

woof-woof (for doggy),

duck

baby

eyes

ba-ba for bottle

She knows where her belly and ears are when asked to point to them.

She will dance whenever she hears music.

Finally she recognizes simple commands like: let’s eat (goes to highchair), let’s go bye-bye (goes to door), put on socks/shoes (holds her feet up to get them on), where’s Jade (plays peekaboo), up/walk (she will stand up and come to us)

If she finds a remote she will point it at the tv and start pressing buttons like she is turning on her baby einstein movies, if I say diaper she points to where it goes on her body, when we put lotion on after her bath she thinks it’s fun to lick it then look at me for a reaction, she will bring or throw me the ball when asked.

Jade loves her Daddy, especially getting rides!

What Ben has been up to!

For those of you who know Ben, you know he cannot sit still when there is a project to be done on the house. For almost a year now, he has been building a wooden fence around our house. He has done this all by himself (with a little help painting from me) piece by piece. Well he finally put up the last panel last week. Our front and back yards are now completely fenced in, except for the driveway.

Here he is putting up the final posts on the north side of our yard...
Another view of the posts...we don't think our neighbors were too happy about the fence going up but that's okay, we really like our privacy!
A view of the west side fence and the pickets being painted. Ben painted probably a hundred pickets (both sides) one day and then nailed them up the next. He is such a hard worker!
A view of the lovely gate that Ben build all by himself. Isn't it pretty?
Finished! A few from the front of our new fence and gate... You may ask why are those posts so much higher than the gate...well, you know Ben, he has another project up his sleeve for the spring. He is going to build a pergola, which is basically a covered sitting area so we can have company over and have a nice shaded spot to sit and visit.
The amazing painter in action!
Ta-da! All done, isn't it beautiful? So straight!
Ben is very relieved to have this project done and we are both happy that Jade will now have a safe place to play in the backyard!

Starring... "Jadee Lady Wilson"

We love to see what Jade does when we give her 2 options, see what happens when she has 2 pacifiers to choose from. Hilarious!

In this next video, Jade shows her dare devil side as she shows us what her Daddy taught her!

Daddy and Jade have so much fun together!

Jade loves to talk up a storm and her favorite word to say is "daddy!"

I never get tired of hearing Miss Jade's sweet little voice, here she is trying to imitate Daddy.

And, last one, here she is walking with Daddy. She got so tired!

Keeping up with Jade

Miss Jadee just loves to climb into and put everything in this cupboard while we are in the kitchen cooking dinner.

Caught Ya!!!
She pushes her way in, I think she is a little big, what do you think?

Nope! We were wrong, she fits rather nicely!! Such a silly girl, but oh so fun!

One night after a bath, we fuzzed Jade's hair up so you could actually see it was getting longer!
"Cheese!"

And last but not the least of our fun, Ben bought a winter coat for Jade that came with this little red hat. No we have not changed our religion, but doesn't it look like a little Jewish boys cap? Needless to say it is a bit small for Jade, go figure, it came with a size 2T coat!

The Taco Challenge!

On Wednesday night we had our good friends Angie and Tony over for a taco eating contest. We had been talking about doing this for quite some time now because both Ben and Tony can eat a ton, and you know Ben and his taco habit. For those of you who don't, Ben can eat tacos every night and never get sick of them.

Anywho, so we started out the evening by meeting at Del Taco and getting our spread. 13 tacos for Ben and 10 for Tony. Angie, Jade and I just ate our normal amount of food.

Jade had to get her hot sauces ready...

The happy challengers...

Chowing down...

Yummy nachos!
Eating my 2 tacos!

Jade had to get in on the action as well. She ate a whole bean burrito, or shall we say she just kind of sucked out all the beans and cheese and mangled the tortilla shell. It was quite a site, and every once in awhile she would laugh because we were laughing. She thought she was the main show of the evening.

YUMMY!!!
And the winner is....both of the guys ate their allotment of tacos, Tony 10 and Ben 13. Both men said they could of eaten a few more, crazy!! Where do they put all that food and how do they keep their figures??!!
All done!
