Baby Animal Day

Jade got her wish for more Aunt Kae when we went to Baby Animal Days up in Logan. Kaeli had found out about this baby animal event up at the American West Heritage Center. It was quite the little day trip but we all had so much fun seeing the baby animals.  Take a look at what we saw!

First we saw the baby ducks! There was this huge line just to hold one and I thought there is no way Jade will actually hold one so we just stood by the fence and peeked in at them.  The next thing I know, this girl is handing us a baby duck through the fence and asking if we wanted to hold one. I kind of felt guilty for not waiting our turn but Jade and Kaeli loved holding it.

Kiera on the other hand about squeezed the life out of the poor duck. I think she thought it was a stuffed animal and just grabbed it super fast and squeezed.  Luckily the duck survived and after that Kiera really wanted nothing to do with it.  I think she was tired, it was naptime!

Fun video of Jade and Kiera with the baby duck

Kiera riding the "horse." She was so unimpressed by all the animals!

Jade loved feeding all of the animals. They had these bales of straw (or hay, I am not sure because I did not grow up on a farm) all over and Jade kept taking handfuls to the calves, piglets and lambs.

My favorite memory from her chasing the little piglets was that she kept pulling their curly little tails. They would run away from her and she would do it again!

Just had to get a picture of these adorable kids! I really did not understand why they called baby goats, kids, but after this trip it was quite apparent.  Whenever they would make their baaaaa noise, it sounded just like little kids crying. Having now had my own two kids who make that noise, it all made sense!

Jade even got to color some eggs, while we were in line waiting to see the baby bears.  Look how proud!

Then, of course, promptly ate them! She had never peeled a hard boiled egg before and did really well.

Still in line....

Finally, the baby bears. I think they were my favorite (minus the overjoyed worker, who I am sure was tired of having her picture taken, but hey that is what you get when you are holding the bears)!!

Kiera's nickname ever since she was born has been Kiera Bear because from the day we brought her home she growls like one.

Jade was so excited to show us that she was as tall as a baby bear. You can't see the outline because she is standing right in front of it, but she was so happy!

Kiera--look at her grow!  Just a few more inches (ha, ha) and you'll be as tall as that bear!

Jade absolutely loved this little jail filled with straw! We could not get her out of it and in fact when we finally did it was kicking and screaming all the way!

But she calmed down pretty quickly as we got to hold the baby turtles.  They were so tiny!

As I said, totally unimpressed with the animals, but she had a blast in the straw table.  She must have sat in there for 20 minutes while Jade did some coloring with Aunt Kae. I guess we will be investing in a straw table this summer! (he, he)

Jade loved chasing the little lambs.

Love, love this video of her "catching" and running from the lambs...

Kiera had left some cookie residue in the cupholder of the stroller and this long-necked guest decided to help himself!!

One more Mama and baby...

Water Fun

The weather here cannot seem to make up its mind!  One day it will be 75 degrees and sunny and then the very next day it is raining or snowing with high winds!  We decided to take advantage of the great weather one day and get out the water table.  Kiera absolutely loves playing and splashing in the water--no matter that it was cold hose water!  She played until she was soaked all the way through!

Why do all little kids like to drink water no matter where it is??!

"I want more Aunt Kae!"

We are so proud of my sister Kaeli!  She just recently graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy and already has her first "real" job! We were lucky enough to be able to go to her graduation.

Getting her diploma

Aunt Kae with her Jadee

So the title of this post has quite the story behind it.  Jade has always loved her Aunt Kae, but recently they have done a lot more together and Jade is even more attached!  Jade was able to go up and spend a whole weekend with "Aunt Kae and Uncle Toy" and loved every minute of it. I mean what little girl would not love going to the park 3 times a day, sitting on the counter making cupcakes, eating the cupcakes, and getting non-stop attention all day long!  She even made Uncle Toy read her Curious George book several times! Thanks Uncle Toy!  Needless to say after I went to pick her up from Aunt Kae's house, she did not want to come home and kept screaming all the way home, "Want more Aunt Kae!"  And has not stopped since!  At random times throughout the day, she will just say, I want to see Aunt Kae, want more Aunt Kae! This is one little girl who loves her Aunty!

I love to see the Temple...I'm Going there Someday!

As part of our Mother-Daughter Date up in SLC, we had to stop at Temple Square because Jades loves going to Temples. She will point them out while we are traveling around and she always says "we have to go Temple, we have to go in!" I love this little girl and she certainly has her sights set in the right direction!

She could not wait to run up those steps, she really thought those doors would open so she could go inside. It was hard explaining to her she has to be just a bit older!

I love to see the Temple...

I'm Going There Someday!

Grandma and Jadee looking up at the Temple.

It was so cute because once she got up the steps she just spontaneously broke into song...she was one happy girl!

Mama and Jadee on the Temple steps.

She loved pointing up the Angel Moroni statue.

And walking along the reflection pool...

Finally, we took her to see the Christus. She just kept looking up and saying, "Jesus sleeping Mama." But she would not take her eyes off of him. It was a special day!

More Woody-Buzz Mama!

Jade and I were able to go on our first Mother-Daughter date in March. It was also super special because My Mom (Grandma) got to come along too! It was quite the girls day!

So what did we do?? Well, Jade has been obsessed with Woody ever since Uncle Cole let her "borrow" his Woody doll that he had when was little. She carries that doll everywhere and I am sure you have seen many pictures on this blog containing Woody!

SO...we took her to see Disney on Ice: Toy Story. We thought she would absolutely love it, and she did (except for the scary Emperor Zurg part)!

She kept shouting, "Woody, Buzz, Jessie! Want more Woody-Buzz!"

She was completely mesmerized the entire time and did not take her eyes off the ice...SEE!

We had to have a snow cone break in an authentic Jessie cup!

Look at that happy girl!

Mama and Jadee

A final shot of all Jade's Friends! We had awesome seats and nobody sat in front of us, so Jade could see everything very well.

"I likes it Mama, I likes my Woody-Buzz!"

Jade in her Jessie hat after the show. We were hoping to convert her to like Jessie more than Woody, but that has not happened yet! Maybe she needs a Jessie doll??

Enjoying her first-ever bite of Cotton Candy after the show! She absolutely loved it, I mean, what kid wouldn't right? Pure fluffed sugary goodness!
