Visit from Grandma Johnson

One Sunday after church the girls were trying on their new sunglasses...what do you think?

And we also got a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. She brought the girls up some fun old-fashioned school desks.  They loved sitting in them and playing school!

Baby Jax is here!

My sister had her baby in late April and I was able to take some pictures of him.  So precious and so little!  The girls really enjoyed holding him too! I think he looks like his Daddy, but he certainly has the Revelli hands and feet!

Hee Haw Spring Animals with Friends

Back in early May, we went to Hee Haw Farms to see their baby animals with some of our friends.  The girls loved seeing the goats and feeding them whatever was on the ground1

Jade loves this slide and went down it over and over again.

Jade and her friend Audrey with the baby goat.  Audrey hauled that thing all over the farm! Jade was fine just to pet it.

But she loved feeding the calves...

Little sticks make great baby chick food, right!?

I took this pic of this goat, quite hilarious before he gets a little haircut!  Jade kept referring to this one as the fat one.

This turkey was just strutting his stuff around the farm but whenever we would get close to it, he would ruffle his feathers and make a warning sound. The girls decided he was better to look at from a distance.

Our fun little group: Cousins Aiden and Ellie, Jade, Ellie, Audrey and Kiera

The little train ride was super exciting but when you have to share your car with your sister it just becomes the end of the world.  We just had a little tiff over how the seatbelt would not go over both of their laps.

Someone left the ride and so Kiera immediately hopped out and got her a spot in the rooster car with a seatbelt to fit her!

Lot of fun playing in the corn box!  I need one of these in my backyard--kept them busy for almost an hour so we all rested in the shade and talked.

Jade had fun burying cousin Ellie! Ellie enjoyed it too!

Kiera had the most fun burying Jade though!

And throwing the corn in the air, check out that face!

And then, this is what she started doing next...I guess it's time to get this girl some gymnastic lessons so we can teach her how to do a proper somersault! She just hung like this forever and sang a little song to herself.

Love this face! Our sweet and rambunctious little girl!

Kiera's Birthday Party

I love having a child born in April, it is a time of rebirth, spring and hopefully good weather!  Well, every year we are on the edge of our seats the night before Kiera's birthday party as we anticipate what the weather will bring!  Last year our family was huddled in our backyard with their coats on so we decided with the threat of rain and high winds this year, we would move it to Grandpa and Grandma Wilson's house.  Thanks you two!  We thought we could do it in their backyard and then move inside if the weather got nasty...so just as we got everything set up outside...the winds picked up and started to blow everything away.  We quickly moved the party inside...but little Miss Kiera was having way too much fun on the slide and running around keeping Grandpa busy! She was so sad when we made her come in. But what is a party without the birthday girl?!

Here she is running into the kitchen after stealing a gift off of the living room table! She was so excited to open it and kept saying, "pesent, pesent, mine!"

So I caved and let her open one early...thanks for the flashlight Grandma!  She loves lights!

Loves them so much she was not going to share with her cousin Aedan. These two play well together as they are about the same size. :) Kiera calls him Aidee.

Lots of fun opening presents...this year she ripped off tiny pieces of the paper and then handed each one to me.  It took a while to open her gifts, but she was so excited for each one.  Thanks wonderful family!

Of course we had some yummy treats too!  Here we found Uncle Tommy and Uncle Cole munching away!

I could not really decide on a theme for her party because she likes so many things right now. So I decided to make a few of her favorite things.  She is super attached to her stuffed polar bear..the one we got a year ago from the zoo that now looks more like a drowned rat!  But, he is her favorite...so we made the cupcakes to look like her "B," as she affectionately calls him. She is also obsessed with making popcorn, so we made 2 different kinds, caramel and strawberry jello.  She loved both and kept sneaking it the whole night!

At first she would not eat her cupcake because it looked like her B, she kept gently touching and talking to it.

After some nudging she took a tiny, careful bite...

And then figured, what the heck!  She dug right in and devoured the whole thing!

She then set to work on eating some of her favorite things. She made her own plate...

And was so proud of herself...what a big girl! Sorry for no shirt, but it was quite messy after the cupcake!

Daddy, Mommy and the Birthday Girl

We are very blessed to have lots of family around and they always make a special effort to be with us.  I am so grateful my kids will know their grandparents and great grandparents!

Couldn't pass up this one...Uncle Troy always doing something goofy for the camera!

Uncle Troy, Daddy, and Grandpa Wilson

Cousin Lena & Nicole

Many others were there too, but I guess we missed getting pictures.  Ben was in charge this time as I was busy chasing Kiera around. :)  Kiera had a wonderful birthday and got to be the Queen for a day.  She absolutely loved it!

Kiera is 2

Our little Kiera is 2 and she is really not so little anymore.  I still like to refer to her as my baby, but got to thinking the other day how silly that is.  She is not a baby, she is nearly as tall as Jade and is super independent.  She will always be my little baby though!

We started off the day by going into her room and singing happy birthday to her as she got up.  This has become our little family tradition.  Poor girl was a little sleepy and had no idea what was going on, other than maybe she thought it was crazy that Mommy, Daddy and Jade were all in her room singing to her! We wanted to do something special as a little family just to make Kiera the star of the day, make her feel special.  So we decided to go swimming at the Lehi pool which is way more fun than the Orem one and she loves to play in the water.

We then had her favorite for lunch, Chicken "nuggies" as she calls them.  She really could eat 20 of these all by herself!

This is her current smile...gotta love it!

We let her open 2 gifts from us on her real birthday.  The rest will have to wait for her party on the weekend.  She was super excited to open her presents!

She loves Elmo and played with this toy for the rest of the day.  Whenever she sees Elmo, she starts singing "La, la, la, la." Funny, it must be the kid reaction because Jade did the exact same thing!

All snuggled up next to her bear pillow that Mommy made. Kiera is still obsessed with bears and will growl on command! Funny how this love of bears and growling has lasted from her first and actual "birth" day all the way to now.

All in all it was a special day for Kiera and she got all of our attention (and I know she loved it) because you could not wipe the smile off of her face!  Happy Birthday to our wonderful, energetic and loveable 2 year old!

Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree

I really wanted to get a picture of the girls with a "popcorn" tree as they call it.  They love singing that song and so we took advantage of the opportunity to get pictures with an apricot tree blooming in Ben's parents yard.  Someday my goal is to make a book for church with all of these fun primary song pictures.

The first thing the girls yelled when we walked into the backyard was "Popcorn, its a popcorn tree!"

Daddy always knows how to make his girls laugh!  Maybe he thought it was real popcorn, since that is his favorite snack, you know!
Jade had to try it too!
