Snowmen & Snow Angels

We have had a couple really great snow storms this year...so Jade and I have taken advantage and built some snowmen.  The first snow did not really stick together well, so our snowmen were mini.

But that did not matter to Jade...do you see that rock on the tops of their heads?  She called that the snowman's magic hat and she so badly wanted him to come to life.  Someone's been watching a little too much Frosty!

Next we made a Mommy snow angel...

And a Jadee snow angel...

The next snow a few days later was much better packing snow and we were able to build some gigantic snowmen!  Here is Jade standing next to hers.  She got tired by the time we made the head, so that is why it is small.

She had to make sure each snowman was dressed up in the proper attire.

The very next day...they had begun to melt!

Jade was so cute while building our snowmen. She kept asking when it would come to life and say "Happy Birthday!" just like on Frosty the Snowman.  I told her that maybe they needed magic hats...so what does she do...she goes and gets two black rocks for their "magic hats." She put the rocks on their heads and demanded that they say Happy Birthday and come to life!  So sweet and innocent, I love my Jadee lady.

Jade does her chores...

We recently got a new vacuum and Jade is obsessed with helping...

She loves to vacuum her room and sometimes we use this as a motivation for her to clean her room.  She does not want to have her toys vacuumed up so she hurriedly picks them all up!

Photo Shoot

The girls got some fun hats from Grandma this year so we had to have a little photo shoot, enjoy!

Decorating for Christmas

It was twice the fun with 2 kids this year to help us decorate!

Jade putting the star on top of the tree is becoming our little family tradition. She loves it!

And sometimes hangs onto Daddy just a little too tight!

Our two best blessings this Christmas season...

Jade + Donut = Mess

Need I say more!

Kiera's Ouchy!

It was a nice Sunday morning and I had just made a pot of cream of wheat. Kids were playing nicely in their room so I set the bowls to cool on the table.  The next thing I know I hear Kiera screaming.  I turn around to see her quickly pulling her hand out of the boiling hot bowl of cream of wheat.  I was sick!  I washed it off in cold water as quickly as I could but she still got some 1st & 2nd degree burns with blisters.  She is a tough little girl, so to hear her sob pretty much all day because it hurt so bad just broke my heart.  The Dr. said there was nothing they could do for her so we wrapped it up with some burn cream and kept soaking it in cool water all day.  Luckily it was mostly gone two days later.  I am just glad her hands were not damaged.  I will not be putting cream of wheat or any hot food on the table anymore!

Thanksgiving at the Wilson's 2012

This year we spent Thanksgiving at the Wilson house.  It started out with some great fun as the boys decided to see who's wedding ring could spin the longest!  I know it sounds funny but that is where we found them!

All the kiddos gathered around the table, ready to eat!

Such a happy eater!

After dinner I gathered the girls around and we made Cookie Turkeys.

Jade mostly ate hers while she was making it!

 Ta-da!

Kiera really did just eat hers all gone, no turkey making for her!

Jadee with her cousins and their turkeys...

Just Because...

Just because we love these 2 little girls...all smiles!
Above, Jade loves to try on her Daddy's shorts all the time.

Below, they loved their new stuffed animals that we brought home from our anniversary trip.

6 years!!

WOW!  To think we have been married for 6 years already!  It has been a great 6 years full of fun, laughs, obstacles, challenges, 2 crazy kids, and I could not have asked for a better man.  Since we really only get away from the kids on our anniversary, we have to make it count!  This year we went to Bryce Canyon for 3 days and hiked until we could not move anymore.  We went to part of Bryce on our Honeymoon so it was fun to relive some of the adventure.

It was a little cold and snowy while we were there.  Mid-November...ehh...what do you expect.  But we bundled up and braved the elements anyway.

I did not actually cross this log because I was too chicken, but Ben did!

We saw lots of frozen waterfalls and streams--so beautiful!

Even got to see some remains of an old Indian Granary way up on the mountainside!

We took a hike through Petrified Forest State Park and saw some impressive pieces of mineralized wood. None still standing though! :)

My big strong Man!

Overlooking the Hoodoos of Bryce Canyon

We set off on an adventurous 6.4 mile hike one morning!

At times the trail was quite narrow as we walked down amongst the Hoodoos...

Other hikers made sure to leave lots of trail markers...we thought this was overkill!

Another frozen waterfall...this time we ventured out on it to get a picture. Some nice guy snapped the shot for us.

Wall of Windows

Ben practicing to be Spiderman!

This is called Wall Street...super narrow and steep!

It was nice to spend some time alone with my sweetheart.  It has been an adventurous 6 years...thanks for the memories Ben!
