Sickness invades the house again...

I am not sure what it is with sickness and our house this year but it sure seems to visit an awful lot!  This time it started out with Kiera having a bladder/kidney infection, a week of miserably high fevers and a catheter to prove it!  Then Miss Jade started in with the fevers about a week later.  After about 3 days, she got canker sores in her mouth.  The Dr. of course said it was a virus but he did give her some "magic mouthwash"  to help numb the cankers so she could eat.  Well after 24 hours of using the magic mouthwash, this happened...

I took her immediately in to the Dr. and he said it was an allergic reaction to the mouthwash!  He said it was most likely not the Benadryl or Mylanta, but rather the Lydocaine that she was allergic too!  Not good, poor kid had a rash for about 2 days but it did go away so the mouth wash probably was the culprit.  But the fevers were still not gone and she was waking up soaked to the bone at night.  Dr. thought it was weird that she was having night sweats...they did all sorts of tests on the cankers to see if it was herpes (the kind that causes cold sores) and they also did a urine test to check for bladder infection. Everything came back negative and the Dr. was stumped!  I explained to him that this has happened ever since she was little.  She gets the weirdest diseases with high fevers that don't really test positive for anything.  The poor little girl is just miserable for many days and many nights as whatever it is works her way through her body!  After about 3 weeks she finally felt better and they did not have to do anymore tests, thank goodness.  But then it was Kiera's turn again...she got a case of laryngitis, again just a nasty virus that made it so she could not talk well.   She was not happy about that and would attempt to scream really loud just to hear her own voice.  Poor girl did not know what to think about her voice being gone!  We are finally all better now!  Cross your fingers and maybe no nursery for awhile!!! Maybe this is just what it is like with 2 little kids in the house who roll around on the ground and I am quite sure Kiera takes a lick every once in a while!
