Just Like Daddy

So..back near Father's Day I found this great idea on Pinterest...to take pictures of the girls in their Daddy's shoes and put it next to this really cute poem.  But..try as I might, the girls did not really cooperate the way I think they should have.  We did end up getting some really fun/silly pictures though and one very exhausted Mommy!  The silly things we Moms think of!!!
I ended up putting them in Daddy's shoes and hats...they loved playing around in things they never ever get to!  Kiera had lots of fun taking everything off that I put on her head or feet!

I got some real smiles...love these mischievious little faces!

What do you do on a 100 degree day?

Well...you go to the local splash pad of course!

Be sure to cover the water hole completely with your mouth so you can get a good drink!!

Run fast or you might get sprayed!

OPEN WIDE!!

Just thoroughly enjoying herself!  Filling up her buckets...

Sunday Walk at Utah Lake

Sunday afternoons are a great time to go on long walks with the girls.  We went down to Utah Lake one day to play in the water and show the girls the ducks and other birds that were there.  Kiera loves to walk in the water, play and splash in it and drink it!  We have had quite a time this summer keeping her from drinking every puddle of water she comes in contact with!

Love this shot of Daddy and Jadee Lady...

Jade standing with her ducks in the background. She found them first and was proud to point them out to us.  She wanted to go swimming with them.
Jade also got a kick out of these pelicans dipping their beaks in the water to catch the fish.

Teaching the art of throwing rocks...Jade would spend all day at the water, until she threw every last rock into the lake.

Beautiful mountain view...

Lil Miss Helpful

My brother injured his knee playing basketball.  He and my Mom came to stay with us for a week and Jade had lots of fun helping to take care of him.  She had to help him wrap his brace up with Saran Wrap so he could shower.

And below she enjoyed the job of putting on his socks because he could not bend to reach his toes.  She was a great little Mother!

Jade meets Spiderman

Jade has liked Spiderman for quite a while now. She has a Spiderman doll and also watches the cartoon with her Daddy.  So I was super excited to take her to our local Macey's when they had a Breakfast with Spiderman event.  Jade was excited to see him from afar and kept pointing him out when he was on the roof or running around the crowd.  But when it came time to actually meet him and get a picture...this is what happened...

I guess he is better seen from a distance for some kids...but Kiera sure enjoyed the day! She danced endlessly to the live band music that was playing. That girl knows how to groove!

Can't Get Enough of the Zoo!

Back in June we spent a fun day at the zoo with Grandma, Kaeli and Cole.  We had to include this picture of Cole--he had just had major knee surgery and was so excited to get out of the house!  He loved driving around his very own motorized vehicle!

Look at these excited girls--they sure love their animals!

First stop:  The Elephants...Jade does a great impression of an elephant. If you have not asked her what an elephant says, you should--it will be the highlight of your day to hear it! Also funny story when we were standing by the elephants, we all hear this big noise like a waterfall and Jade gets so excited and starts shouting, "la-ler, la-ler (her word for water)!" Then she turns around and sees that the "la-ler" is coming from the elephant.  "He's peeing mama, he's peeing, yeah!" She was so excited!!!  You can tell what we have been working on at our house!

Wow, Jade weighs as much as 2 elephants poop in a month!  I wonder how they measured that one!

Yee-haw, ride that rhino Kiera!

The 2 cutest birds at the zoo!

Kiera loved finding the seals swimming in the water.

Jade was enthralled watching the river otters swim and play.

She also loved talking to the seals!

Kiera saw these big grizzly bears and started her infamous growling noises.  Hence the reason her nickname is Kiera Bear.

She loved this polar bear and would not stop hugging and kissing it!

A train ride through the zoo...both girls had to sit with their Aunt Kae!

We got super close to the giraffes...the girls loved it. Jade had been talking to all of the other animals and making their sounds so I thought I would be clever and told her to talk to the giraffes.  I thought she would make some cute sound that she thought giraffes would make, but no...she leans through the fence and says "Hi Giraffe."

We also got to go back to the zoo with my work the next week.  We had more fun and got to see some animals we did not get to before. My favorite was the new polar bear exhibit.  We got to see it swimming and doing its morning exercises.

Jade is almost as tall as a grizzly bear and growls like one too!

This little bear is way too tired, but still cuddling with that bear.

We heard some monkeys making noises all around us so Jade had to make this "monkey face" to show me.  Kiera kept pointing to all the animals and saying  "ooh, ohh, ahh, ahh!"

Enjoying a climb on a giant spider at the kids playground. I was super surprised that Jade climbed all over this thing because at home when she sees a spider she yells for me to kill it.

Kiera spent all of her time in the playground climbing on this giant caterpillar.

We went to see a show and Jade volunteered to touch a snake.  She actually wanted to touch it, with no prompting whatsoever from me!

And last but not least, Kiera loved climbing all over the tiger statues.  She even growled like a tiger when we saw it in its enclosure.  She is one smart girl!
